| Holy Communion |
We are so happy you came to worship with us today. We also want to
invite you to commune with the Lord and us, too. We have an open
invitation to all communing believers without regard to church
affiliation, so please join us.
1st Service Communion: Please come forward by the outside aisles. When you get to the communion rail, you will be signaled about what to do. When you have communed; please return to your place by way of the inside aisle. 2nd Service Communion: Please come forward by the center aisle. Receive the bread from Pastor Henry, and go to the cupbearer on your side of the chancel. Dip your piece of bread in the wine/grape juice and then eat and drink the body and blood of our LORD Jesus together. When you have partaken; please return to your seat down the outside aisle. |

| Learning Christmas Carols | Please join us for a Carol Sing & learning immediately following 10:30 am services for the next two weeks Dec. 10 & 17. so our children can learn Christmas carols. Please bring a couple of dollars so we can order pizza to share following the singing. |
| 52 Verses in 52 Weeks! | We at ALC are embarking on a year-long journey of memorizing a Scripture verse each week. Each Sunday morning, a Bible verse from that morning’s lessons will be included on a small card in your bulletin—feel free to take it home with you. Additional cards will be available in an envelope outside Matt’s office. Today’s verse is from the Gospel: Luke 21:33 |
| "Good God Questions" Bible Study | Join us Tuesdays from 8 until 9 PM for “Good God Questions. This week is the only time we will meet in December. This week’s topic: How do we know the Holy Spirit is active in our life? Continue to watch the Sunday bulletin for upcoming topics! |
| Poinsettias | Today is the final time to sign up to order a poinsettia to help decorate our church for the Christmas season. Cost is $8.50 each. Sign up sheet is on the table in the narthex. |
| Christmas Caroling | ALC’s Youth Group will be Christmas Caroling on Sunday, December 10. All members of the congregation are invited to attend. We will meet at church at 4:00 pm. Please bring a few dollars to contribute towards post-caroling pizza. |
| Do You Play An Instrument? | Guitar, trumpet, piano, flute, French horn, kazoo…okay, maybe not the kazoo. We’d love for you to share your talent with the congregation! Whether it’s a one time piece of special music, occasionally accompanying the choir, filling in on the praise team, or anything else, if you’d like to share your musical gifts, please talk to Matt. |

The Lancaster County Chapter for Thrivent Financial and your local Financial Associates invite you to join them at an open house at the new location on Monday, December 4th, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. |
| Everyone is invited | to the 2nd annual Josh Brestel Birthday Safari and Toy Drive. Please join us on December 10 from 1:30-4:30 in the Parish Hall. Bring a new and unwrapped toy for a boy or girl of any age. Gift cards will also be accepted. (Target, Walmart, ToysRus). There will be crafts, games for the kids and treats for all. All toys collected will be delivered to Children’s Hospital, Omaha and St. Elizabeth’s Hospice, Lincoln on Josh’s birthday, December 13. Thank you to everyone for helping us celebrate Josh and put a smile on the faces of many children. |

| Food Pantry | In December, the Lincoln Lutheran Cluster Food Pantry needs Hamburger Helper, tuna or canned meats, instant or canned potatoes, and canned tomato products -stewed, diced, sauce, paste, etc. Cash donations are used for immediate needs. Place your donation clearly marked "food pantry" in the collection plate. |
| NSP Hobby Center | The Nebraska State Penitentiary Hobby Association will hold the Annual Winter Hobby Show at the Front Entrance of the Nebraska State Penitentiary on December 8th and 9th, 2006. The hours of operation will be 8:00 am to 7:00 pm on Friday, December 8th and 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 9th. Featured items available for immediate purchase range from hand-tooled leather belts, wallets, purses, and checkbook covers, to Native American lore crafts, ceramics, paintings, drawings, stained glass, custom made jewelry, and much more. Special orders are gladly accepted. Proceeds from these sales are returned to the inmate craftsman to be used for family support, personal needs, and reinvestment in supplies to continue their craft/hobby. |
| Habitat for Humanity | volunteers will be raising the walls for the Faith Build Habitat House on December 9th, at 9:00 am, at 1011 Sumner Street. This will be the home of Zeidan and Nazzo Kasem and their two children. Supporter, volunteers and donors can come and watch or help for whatever time works with their schedule. We will be working 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. The wall-raising is weather permitting. If you have any questions or need more information call us at 477-9184. |
| "Logos and Latte" Book Club | If you enjoy reading (the coffee is optional), please join us! Our next meeting will be this Monday, December 4th at 7 PM. The book we’ll be exploring together is Blue like Jazz: Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality by Donald Miller. There is a signup sheet in the narthex so Matt has an idea of how many folks to expect. There will be no meeting in January. |
