| Holy Communion |
We are so happy you came to worship with us today. We also want to
invite you to commune with the Lord and us, too. We have an open
invitation to all communing believers without regard to church
affiliation, so please join us.
1st Service Communion: Please come forward by the outside aisles. When you get to the communion rail, you will be signaled about what to do. When you have communed; please return to your place by way of the inside aisle. 2nd Service Communion: Please come forward by the center aisle. Receive the bread from Pastor Henry, and go to the cupbearer on your side of the chancel. Dip your piece of bread in the wine/grape juice and then eat and drink the body and blood of our LORD Jesus together. When you have partaken; please return to your seat down the outside aisle. |
| Altar Flowers | The flowers this morning are given to the Glory of God by Wendy Hirsch for all the blessings God has given Wendy as she celebrates her birthday. |

| Narrated Service of Holy Communion | What exactly do we do each Sunday at worship? Why is it important? This morning we’ll have the opportunity to experience together a narrated communion service. At various points during worship, a narrator will talk about what we’re doing and why we’re doing it. We hope that this might make your individual worship experience more meaningful and maybe answer some questions you’ve had regarding worship. |
| Honey Sunday | Today is Honey Sunday. You can buy bottles of honey for $4, a suckers for $1, lotion bars for $6, and lip balm is $2.50. By purchasing these item you will be help ARC in "Supporting people with developmental disabilities and their families." Their support services include Family Connections, People First, Women Investing in Now, Dad's Group, Sibshops, and Aktion Club. |
| Attention Parents | In light of what went on in other churches in Lincoln, we need to stay alert to keep our kids safe. Please keep your eyes open and parents please do not let your children leave worship without and adult going with them. |
| Sunday School | Sunday School is available from 9:15-10:15 for all ages from 3 years old through adult. Feel free to contact Matt with any questions. |
| "Good God Questions" Bible Study | Join us Tuesdays from 8 until 9 PM for “Good God Questions.” Each week, we’ll examine a different faith question, watch a short video clip of seminary professors addressing that question in a roundtable format, then discuss what it all means and what it means for us in our daily walk as Christians. This has been an interesting, thought-provoking time of sharing and study together. This week’s topic: What happens to us after death? Continue to watch the Sunday bulletin for upcoming topics! |
| Stewardship Packets | The Annual Stewardship Drive was held during worship services on October 22, 2006. If you were not there, please pick up a stewardship packet in the Narthex. The packet contains a time and talent sheet and a financial pledge sheet. |
| December Opportunities for Sharing Time and Talent | If you’re aware of an opportunity to share time or talents, please let Joel Bacon know at 484-0131 or jbacon@keatinglaw.com, so he can include it in the December newsletter. |
| Poinsettias | It’s once again time to sign up to order a poinsettia to help decorate our church for the Christmas season. Cost is $8.50 each. Deadline for ordering your Poinsettia is Dec. 1. Sign up sheet is on the table in the narthex. |

| Do You Play An Instrument? | Guitar, trumpet, piano, flute, French horn, kazoo…okay, maybe not the kazoo. We’d love for you to share your talent with the congregation! Whether it’s a one time piece of special music, occasionally accompanying the choir, filling in on the praise team, or anything else, if you’d like to share your musical gifts, please talk to Matt. |

| The Lincoln offices of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans | have recently moved their offices to 7431 “O” Street. The Lancaster County Chapter for Thrivent Financial and your local Financial Associates invite you to join them at an open house at the new location on Monday, December 4th, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. |
| Everyone is invited | to the 2nd annual Josh Brestel Birthday Safari and Toy Drive. Please join us on December 10 from 1:30-4:30 in the Parish Hall. Bring a new and unwrapped toy for a boy or girl of any age. Gift cards will also be accepted. (Target, Walmart, ToysRus). There will be crafts, games for the kids and treats for all. All toys collected will be delivered to Children’s Hospital, Omaha and St. Elizabeth’s Hospice, Lincoln on Josh’s birthday, December 13. Thank you to everyone for helping us celebrate Josh and put a smile on the faces of many children. |

No experience necessary—just a love for singing and music. Come join us on Wednesday nights from 7:00 until 7:45 in the sanctuary balcony, as we “make a joyful noise unto the Lord!” |

| 52 Verses in 52 Weeks! | We at ALC are embarking on a year-long journey of memorizing a Scripture verse each week. Each Sunday morning, a Bible verse from that morning’s lessons will be included on a small card in your bulletin—feel free to take it home with you. Additional cards will be available in an envelope outside Matt’s office. Today’s verse is from the Gospel. Hebrews 10:23 |
| Cause of the Month | ARC of Lincoln/Lancaster Co. (Honey Sunday) Donations for containers of honey support the SRC which raises awareness about developmental disabilities and provides services for people with developmental disabilities. |
| Food Pantry | In November, the Lincoln Lutheran Cluster food pantry needs rice, spaghetti sauce, cereal, crackers, and canned fruit. Cash donations are used for immediate needs. To contribute cash place it in your offering plate, clearly marked “food pantry”. |
| "Logos and Latte" Book Club | If you enjoy reading (the coffee is optional), please join us! Our next meeting will be Monday, December 4th at 7 PM. The book we’ll be exploring together is Blue like Jazz: Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality by Donald Miller. There is a signup sheet in the narthex so Matt has an idea of how many folks to expect. There will be no meeting in January. |
| Lincoln Lutheran Choir | will present its fall concert TODAY at 3:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church. The theme for this concert, “Advent: Prophecy and Annunciation” was chosen by our new interim director, James Lytton. |
